Small But Mighty

I sat outside this afternoon after I finished up washing up the fresh fruit and straightening up the kitchen and shot the trio of hummingbirds that battle morning, noon and night in our backyard. They have such personalities: the male, the one I call "Chubs" because of his rotund tummy, stands guard in the magnolia tree, just a couple feet from the primary feeder, and swoops in on the unsuspecting females whenever they try to grab a sip of sugar water, setting off indignant squeakings from all sides. They make me chuckle.
